About Us:History
St. James Orthodox Church is located at 27 E. Main Street, Rear Second Floor Entrance, in the heart of downtown Westminster, MD. The church has been set up in a beautiful space overlooking a large public parking lot opposite the Carroll County Department of Social Services, next to the rear entrance of the Winchester Exchange shopping gallery.
Constrained by the love of our Lord, Jesus Christ, we have established a permanent presence in Carroll County, where we will strive to be a community of prayer, an example of faith and a people of love for all. We will witness to our faith according to the ancient doctrines and rich liturgical traditions of the Holy Orthodox Church, and our services will be held in the English language. We welcome all inquirers and seekers warmly in the Name of the Lord! We ask for your prayers, as we pledge to you ours!
